ON Budget, ON Schedule, and ON Target
Delta Solutions & Technologies, Inc.'s utmost goal is to provide a quality product on time and within budget. Given that the cost of any system is such a high priority for our clients, Delta uses BEACON®, our Project Management and Quality Assurance Methodology, to ensure requirements are fully met as defined by all of our clients.
Company-wide adherence to standards ensures a quality product.
BEACON's standard set of project management and quality assurance procedures are required company wide to assist in the management of all client-facing relationships.
For any engagement, each component that is required by the client will follow the BEACON methodology.
BEACON in action.
Following is an example of a typical software development lifecycle under the BEACON methodology:
- Project plan and approach
-
- Gather information from subject matter experts.
- Update the project plan and approach (includes strategic plan, work schedule necessary, scope and timeframe for all milestones and deliverables).
- Regular status reports
-
- We take a proactive approach to risk management for any initiative by maintaining open and effective lines of communication with our clients.
- Regular status reports with details on current activities and deliverables are provided.
- Technical Architecture recommendations
-
- Using our considerable technical architecture and systems expertise, we will independently evaluate the necessary technical environments for any initiative, and based on that initiative deliver a Technical Architecture recommendation, where appropriate.
- We then conduct requirements gathering sessions with subject matter experts supporting the various systems involved to create the detailed design as it relates to those requirements.
- Each of these design documents will be the roadmap for our developers to ensure the functionality described in the initiative is fully met.
- Acceptance testing
-
- Prior to formal delivery and upon completion of our development efforts, acceptance testing, which includes valid and invalid tests is conduced to ensure full requirements are met.
- Complete acceptance testing results, including screen prints, are packaged for client review. This can be a critical component during a proto-type or parallel testing phase of the life cycle.
- Quality Assurance
-
- Prior to delivery, the Quality Assurance manager reviews ALL deliverables to ensure all are in the proper format, proper language, and send the appropriate message that Delta considers critical to its success.
- Delivery
-
- Finally, we deliver all test results from the acceptance test along with the appropriate software to the client for full acceptance.
- We will do everything necessary to ensure the client is 100% satisfied, and as agreed upon in the detailed design.
